Thanks gor this video! Ive been thinking about going to Japan and wondering how to make the most of the time. This sounds like a magnificent itenerary!
If you dont know japanese, i reccomend having a specialised japanese translation app on your phone (ex: mazii instead of gg translate). That would help a lot in my experience!

Would you recommend visiting Matsumoto and Takayama in December after seeing the snow monkeys in Nagano? How does Takayama compare to Kyoto?
Ok, but do you just travel with your whole bagade and just try to find hotels as you arrive to all these places? No booking ahead or anything?
$1200 a day for food??? That's crazy. I had to rewind it twice to make sure I heard that right.
