Kira or anyone else, I know this is a late comment but around 9:12 when you take a look at the tourism board. What anime is labelled number 115. I do not recognise it.

Thank you in advance. 🙏

Where can I search when this event take place .?….

Ah Finally someone who can talk about Anime Japan! I went to Anime Japan in 2017 and 2019. Funny thing is that they gave away Starmyu character surgical mask in 2019 and who knew we're going to have pandemic next year...
They gave away so many flyers and freebies that I ended up making a scrapbook of all the flyers I've got in 2019...LOL. I didn't buy figures because I wasn't too crazy about them, but I bought more practical items like clothing and home goods. Their quality is so good that and they stand by for it. At one time, the booth that sold Boarding School Juliet coffee mug ran a recall because the paint comes off after the washing. Their standard is so high that it feels like things sold in America feels a bit inferior...
And I'm glad that you're excited about Anime Tourism. I love Anime tourism too and I crammed two anime site visits while in Japan. My Dream is doing a bicycle packing trip to various anime tourism spots.

Thanks for the content

This is 3 months late but just want to say I appreciate this video as someone who is too far from the convention to attend. It's fun to get a glimpse of the convention! Glad your video is the first one to appear when searching for AnimeJapan lol Awesome energy!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but... from what I've heard, anime cons in Japan are sort-of like "mini-cons" compared to, say, American ones? In that they have a lot of merch, presentations by companies in the field, and maybe a few extras like a cosplay area, but... not a whole lot outside that, esp. in regard to panels, maybe a 'maid cafe' at the con, an anime-viewing room, AMV contest, awesome 'concerts', etc.?🤔 So... are they, in fact, more like 'trade shows' than standard anime cons elsewhere?

Kinda strange that foreign cons run by otaku are more "fan-centered and participatory" than.. ones run in the nation that invented and perpetuates anime. I wonder if there's 'any chance' that a "non-Japanese-style" anime con could ever come to Japan and thrive? esp. started by Japanese fans themselves

hmm

Or are the hotel and/or convention-center arrangements in Japan just "not conducive" to such an extensive 'assortment' the kind of stuff offered in US and Canadian cons, for example?

Then again, it probably isn't 'too surprising', given the super-"corporate-growth-centric" path Japan went on after WW2, esp. after the end of US occupation. Esp. how corporations treat their employees and try to make them "see the firm as a 2nd (or only) family" in a way that only the absolute worst firms in places like the US behave. Granted, some of those 'illusions' were shattered after the bubble popped in the early 90s, but... nonetheless, rates of stuff like unionization, minimum wage, etc., aren't much higher than here in the US, I think (sadly)? And Japanese firms in industries like automotive have some really-absurd practices, like 'bringing-over' other Japanese suppliers TO foreign countries that they "insource" new plants and operations to (rather than using ones already existing in the domestic market), lol. So I guess it shouldn't be 'terribly shocking' that the anime industry and/or "fandom" evolved in this similarly 'consumerist', passive fashion. including even w/ cons

@Krolshi 2022.05.26 07:55

Omfg I did such a fast double take when you mentioned Shugo Chara. A reboot would be awesome! And seeing as how a lot of popular oldies got one, I wouldn’t be surprised if it got one either ❤️

So cool to see the difference in conventions in different countries tho!

@chaoswarriorx4411 2022.05.19 11:55

Those crouching and hiding Anya’s were so cute!

@afizi1213 2022.05.15 10:03

Wauu we need more money to spend it 🤣😋

@hehuho890 2022.04.29 09:17

i missed animejapan, my last visit is 2019... hopefully when borders are opened in some countries, i can visit once more

@norenaireneang1159 2022.04.27 08:37

Amazing

@TheRikulen39 2022.04.13 02:04

Please japan... we need more shugo chara! At least make the heart lock and the shugo chara egg toy again TwT
I'm an adult and I have money now! So you better do the reboot and make merch again hahaha!!

@TheRollGuy 2022.04.11 07:55

I was in japan in 2020 March but I didn't get to go because it was cancelled becuase of covid. :( It's great to see it has opened up again.

@lacedaggerbooks 2022.04.07 23:42

Kami Kuzu Idol!!! It's cool that you got to see an advert for it. I'm excited for it. The manga runs in my fave manga magazine so I know it'll be good

@j.j.q1379 2022.04.06 23:23

@helmhamburgerhand 2022.04.02 14:00

@mattlambourne 2022.03.31 10:07

So cool to see this. Thanks for sharing, Kiira!

@CoraxSage 2022.03.30 04:54

No fair, that line was way shorter than in 2018! I'll admit, I was slightly disappointed in not seeing an S-Fire Froppy.... It was really nice to see a return of Prince Of Tennis to the forefront again! Kiira, just know that I'm really impressed with the evolution of your videos over the years, and really excited to see what's coming next!

@alocino96 2022.03.29 20:22

see a friend of mine was at the event and being not a big fan of animes he said he didn't find anything super interesting, i said to him if there were any of those little free promonotional phamplet and stuff i would have hoarded them all and i would have been happy enough, i love them.
