Chardonnay from the right bank of the Chikumagawa River in northern Nagano Prefecture, an area rich in gravel, produces wines with rich, complex aromas, minerality, and a firm structure. Rivalis" means "river" in Latin, and is derived from the high quality of the wines from the right and left banks of the Chikuma River side by side.
