Idk what changed in 2 years but tsubame osen took me 2 hrs to get there not 18 minutes lol. As far as i could tell you had to take the train to myoko kogen and transfer to the sekiyama train, then bus to tsubame onsen. Still sooo worth it though! You bath naked btw at least for men if you're wondering like i was.

As a Japanese woman who has lived abroad, I feel conflicted when I see white people happily enjoying Japan. In Western countries, I was even punched in the face, mocked for my accent, and denied services. That’s why it feels so ironic when they casually praise Japan’s safety and kindness.

It's hard to call Nikko a hidden gem anymore. There is already quite a lot of commotion going on for such a small place. Shirakawa is still a little more hidden, but also well-visited.

Hi Hannah! In the video when you're explaining how to get to the igloo village you mentioned going to Ohibiro by train, but google maps aren't able to find Ohibiro. Where is it, please?
