Feel the coolness and healing
On a hot and humid summer day, the sound of wind chimes on the breeze is a tasteful one.
Wind chimes were originally called "fudaku," or wind bells, and were used as charms to ward off epidemics and other good fortune, and eventually became an established summer tradition.
They not only bring a sense of coolness, but also remind us of the good old Japanese scenery and make us feel nostalgic.
Tsugaru Biidoro, the fruit of craftsmen's passion
In 1949, Tsugaru Vidro began with Hokuyo Glass, a manufacturer that began producing floating balls for the fishing industry.
The glass products produced by Hokuyo Glass have been recognized for their high quality compared to other glass manufacturers. Tsugaru Vidro" was born as a handmade glass brand using techniques such as "air-blowing" cultivated through the production of floating dama.
Tsugaru Vidro" starts from the scorching world of bright red melting at 1500 degrees in a crucible.
The glass is wound around a blowpipe, and the skillful techniques and craftsmanship of Tsugaru craftsmen give each piece the soft, handmade shape that only handmade glass can achieve.
The graceful colors evoke the nature of Aomori, and the skillful techniques of the craftsmen.
Today, Tsugaru Biidoro glassware is designated as a traditional Aomori craft.
